A Javelin on the river Yare

A friendly club situated by the River Yare.

Buckenham is the home of the Phantom high-performance single-handed sailing dinghy.

The club offers some of the best sailing conditions on the Nofolk Broads; due to the low lying open marshes which allow for unimpeded winds along this stretch of the river.

Sailing takes place from April to December, with social events spread throughout the year.

Visitors and new members, young or old, are always welcome.

Racing normally commences at 10.30am on Sunday Mornings.

Tea, coffee and light snacks are available in the club house.

In 2009 BSC will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. We hope to have events during the year culminating with a Dinner Dance in the autumn.

The Club would like as many people as possible to join in our celebrations, so if you were once a club member or you have sailed at the club, please click here to contact us. We would be delighted to hear from you.

Our Winter Open Series starts on Sunday 19th October and finishes on 14th December. First race 10.30; Tangier Trophy. Second race 12.00; The '07 Trophy. Entry fee is £1 per race or £15 for the whole series.

Lunch, in the form of baked potatoes with various fillings, will be available (for a small donation) once sailing has finished.

Visitors are most welcome.

The Commodore's Supper and Prize Giving.

This year the Commodore's Supper will take place at the New Inn; Rockland St.Mary. If you would like to come, please write your name and preferred choice of courses on the sheet in the clubhouse, a menu is displayed on the notice board.

There is a maximum of 50 people so make sure you book soon to avoid any disappointment!
