Open Regatta
4th and 5th July 2009
Visitors swell numbers.
A pleasent south westerly greeted ten starters in the opening race of this years regatta.
John Ellis from Coldham Hall SC emerged first on corrected time with Michael Cullum in his Laser second and Chris Toothill in his Phantom third..
In the Junior race David Cullum came first ahead of Hannah Burrell who performed very well to keep ahead of Peter Cullum.
Sunday dawned with conditions as the previous day.
Due to the number of entries the fleet was split in two.
Michael Cullum and John Ellis shared a victory each, with Geoff Pinder second in one and Simon Cullum second in the other race. The junior races were keenly contested with Peter Cullum and David Cullum winning one race each.
The club would like to thank all the people who staffed the starter's box and all the members who manned the safety boats. Also many thanks to all the people who worked so hard in the galley, keeping us supplied with excellent refreshments all weekend.
